Oncoplastic Breast Reduction
Oncoplastic surgery attempts to combine the principles of good oncologic resection of tumors with plastic surgery principles of improved form and function. When patients with large and ptotic (droopy) breasts develop a breast cancer and choose breast conservation, breast reduction can follow lumpectomy of the cancer in the same operation to facilitate an easier field for the radiation therapists to radiate following the breast reduction and improved aesthetics for the patient.
